Navitech PRS T1 case

I ordered it two weeks ago and it was delivered yesterday.

THE BAD:
  • - There is no way this thing is made of leather. It doesn't feel like leather, it doesn't look like leather, it doesn't smell like leather.
    - The "Navitech" logo is impressed on the front and they obviously used heat to do the impressing because there are just as obvious signs of plastic melt in the letters.
    - Interestingly, there is no mention of leather on the bill included in the package. All of a sudden it's just called "Black Sony PRS T1 case".
    - The actual case has nothing to do with the photos on amazon.
    - The glossy frame of the reader isn't even covered on the bottom.
    - The rest of the glossy frame is "covered" in a remarkably ill fitting fashion.
    - There is an un-advertised stylus holder. The case has been enlarged to make room. I never use the stylus, but others might.
THE BETTER:
  • - There is an un-advertised stylus holder! It's a rubberized nylon loop with a nice snug fit.
    - I can use the stylus holder to attach a safety chain.
    - The front folds all the way back for easy one-handed reading.
    - The reader is held firmly secure. I'm not scared of droping it anymore.
    - The case is stiff and seems secure as a vault when closed.
The bottom line:

- If you want cheap, stiff protection made of plastic(and you don't mind being blatantly lied to by your supplier), then this is the case for you.
- If you want anything, even remotely resembling what was advertised, then hands off!

Incidentally: I'm keeping it for use on the ski-lift, at home the ugly thing comes off!

Here's the one I ordered two weeks ago:

But I can't state clearly enough: What you see is NOT what you get!

Ops! Well I shoulda probably posted on that thread, but I was getting kinda frustrated with yet other thread which is turning into a Gecko, and nothing but Gecko case thread.

In any case(no need to pardon the pun), what your pics show is exactly what I got too. Same bad fit over the glossy bezel.

But it's kinda what I wasn't even hoping for, 'cause now I am taking it with me on the slopes! I wasn't even remotely considering that before, even if it gets sooo boring on the ski-lift.

Wow... the bottom really don't cover much at all. I have an old navitech I had bought for my 650 and I wasn't overly thrilled with it. It was functional, it came with a crappy book light that I found unusable. I still have the case sitting around. I can't even remember if I tried putting the T1 in it.

Sorry for "ressurecting" a dead thread, but I just wanted to share some photos of the actual case.
It is true, that the advertised images do not correspond to the actual design of the product, but in my case I was pleasantly surprised.

The case fits PRS T1 perfectly and holds it in place. Access to all of the necessary buttons is uninhibited. To change the SD card, you may need to undress your reader. It doesn´t add too much weight to the device, but I´ve had problems with "folding the front all the way back" since it seems that the seam might wear out in time (it is possible though).

I generally like the look of the case. The stylus can be clipped on to the side of the strap which holds the case and nests there comfortably. Only minor aesthetic drawback was the use of a white thread. For me- an overall best price/quality ratio currently on the market.

what does that mean?
I got my navitech case today and I don´t understand what you are referring to... do you place the stylus like in the pictures posted in this 3d?

You can see where the stylus is placed in the photos above your post although I can see something about an inch away I'd take to be the loop.

I admit I wish I''d went for a third party case instead of Sony's lighted one, I can't see the official case even protecting the reader slightly which is the real reason I bought one I can't fault Sony's light on it mind you.

I've an amazing little padded soft leather wallet for my iPod Touch and I wish someone made the same thing only larger, it would be nice if a company did start making a variety of cases like the apple ones actually you can really get some rugged ones.

.
That's correct - as lotusmonk has found, the proper Sony stylus doesn't really need it as it can clip over the side of the holder bit as shown. However, I generally use cheap Nintendo-type styluses rather than risk losing the real stylus, and they fit perfectly in the loop.
