Do you misrepresent your address to buy ebooks?
I have done this twice in order to buy an ebook that wasn't available in my country. Now I'm noticing that some ebooks cost 25% more for no explicable reason (before taxes).

No. Other.
Faking my location is more work than acquiring the book through other means. I've had pretty good results with library acquisitions and ILL and don't have a problem with paper. I'm sure just about everything newly published ends up on the darknet shortly before or after its release. The newly graduated college students I've talked to seem able to find anything. Greg Weeks |

Geo-restrictions on electronically distributed media is simply insanely stupid. Mis-representing your address is just levellling the playing field.

No, but I don't have a problem with people who do so for a legitimate reason.

I don't fake my address. I'm not going to fake it to give my money to publishers that do stupid things like this.

I need a third "Just No" no option. Neither of the existing two Nos accurately reflect my feelings.
No, I don't do it; no, I probably never will, but "wrong" doesn't enter into my decision. I just don't care enough to go through that kind of hassle for a book. |

I have not needed to but would if necessary. Geo Restrictions are silly and I have no problem with people working around them. At least a fake address gets the author paid. That is better then pirating.

I "had to" do it for one book that there was no other way for me to get.

No, I've never had too. But if I was Geo restricted I would rather fake my address than pirate the book.

I've not had to. But, if the time came where I needed to, I would. I don't really see the problem. I'd still be paying for it.
