PRS T1 not sorting my music correctly!

This is really getting on my nerves. On the device it says "Sorted by track number" BS! I've edited every single song and still, on the reader they show up in random order and the artist is <unknown> god damn it. How do I fix this? Sorry but I'm really in a bad mood today.

Okay, I fixed the track order thing - apparently the files have to be in the main folder of the memory card - but the artist field still reads <unknown>

Okay, fixed it. In case someone else has the same problems, here's how I did it. I downloaded Mp3tag and used it to edit the music files. Should not have been this complicated in the first place.

It's not complicated at all if your MP3 files are properly tagged in the first place. Isn't that fairly standard practice for music these days?

I know how to do all that. But it STILL doesn't work. It was fine when I had only one album, then I added another album and it messed up again. It doesn't sort the songs correctly. I ended up throwing my micro SD card away because I lost my patience. I'm just going to buy a real MP3 player.

I do love Mp3tagit and spent many hours re-doing tags for old music files. I ripped a lot of cds back in 2004 without internet access so they were track xx until last December. There is a lot to be said for the whole folded-browsing system. It's a bit cumbersome on the T1, but if I just want to listen to music, i'll play all the music in a folder and set it to repeat. For me, it's just background noise.

If you do end up buying a mp3 player, I recommend the sansa clip zip or sansa clip plus. It's small, clips to your clothes, is compatible with a variety of music format and can be opened on different computers, and it's cheap. I bought the maroon sansa clip plus last May from CompUSA for $30 and ended up giving it my sister so I could buy a white sansa clip zip for again for $30. It doesn't seem to have quite as good of battery life as the clip plus (10-12 vs 12-14) but it does have a pretty useless tiny color screen to display album covers. You can add those in mp3tagit as well and its a lot of fun
