Renaming files in bulk
When you insert a Chapter break, Sigil splits the html file into two different files: one with it's orignal filename, and another title Section#.xhtml
The numbers are generated by the order in which they are created, not in the order they are displayed. My question is: Is there some way to rename all the files in bulk so that the naming convention is consistent and the file numbers correspond with their position in the folder? |

Sorry, perhaps I should have elaborated. It was discussed quite intensively, but of course not everybody reads all threads in this subforum like I do.
@ElMiko, there are some issues with 0.5.2, but in general it works fine. The main thing which doesn't work that well (at least for me), is the Find Next option. That is a known thing already. |

IMHO, t would be really useful if there was a simple way to install a new version and leave the old version active (till the new version is mostly debugged [mostly being in the 'eye of the beholder']) to fall back on if it's deemed necessary and/or prudent.

![]() I have a 64 bit intel dual core. Does what your're suggesting only work on AMD? The reason I don't do it any longer is the last time I had to screw around with stuff to get either version to work and I ended up messing up the registery. They were both 64 bit and I had to rename the version 3 one Sigil3 (which is still installed and still works). ![]() |

@alansplace:
I use a 64-bit Win7 box, and I simply name them differently and they work fine. I still have a Sigil 3.x around here and Sigil 4.something as well--never had any real issues. HTH, Hitch |

Two installs, or more, may not work in future versions as well as it should as they'll both use the same user settings files, at moment I think its only dict files, but as versions go by I think they'll be more settings etc. stored there. At moment they're all in applications install folder.
