PDF files not showing up on my Kindle DX

Searching yielded no results, so I am resorting to posting here.

I tried moving a few PDFs to my Kindle DX today, and not a single one is showing up on the kindle. I tried both dropping them into the "documents" folder, and transferring them via calibre. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve that?

I've had a problem with some pdf's in the past as well, esp. ones that have been scanned, like some Google ones. To try to resolve this (worked for me) see this thread;
