Calible Viewer performance

I just installed Calibre on my new system. System is relatively fast, with 8gb memory.

Calibre works fine (complex, but fine) with a grand total of 78 books. But the viewer is quite a resource hog, and very slow.

Anyone else notice this?? any suggestions.

thnx,

The viewer is really an epub viewer. Feed it anything else and it converts in background before it displays.

See help notes on unnecessary anti-virus scans (of already scanned books)

I find the viewer to be pretty fast myself. I used to use others as defaults until I discovered some of the calibre viewers features.

You can configure calibre to use other viewers as defaults like kindle for PC to view join, or Sony reader etc.

Uncheck the format in preferences->behavior and the default OS application will be used.

A little more investigation shows its only some (large) books. Perhaps its the conversion.

Changing preferences and using the Kindle reader works better.

thanks for the help.
