Calibre or my database is buggy alphabetical sorting gone

Hello,
I hope someone can help me. Since the update to calibre 0.8.38, my calibre installation is corrupted. On the left side of the calibre windows where the Author, Tags and other treeviews are shown, calibre does not show alphabetical sorting any more. Now clicking on the the authors view I have funny numbers. Instead of Letters A,B,C,D... I find values like:5.00-5.00[100], 5.00-4.00[100], 4.00-4.00[100] Under each section I find the authors, but not sorted either by first or last name.
In fact all the alphabetical listing for author, tags, publisher is replaced by this meaningless numbering (5.00-5.00[100]).
I don't know if it has anything to do with the update or if my database got coruppted. I haven't made any changes to the settings for a long time.
The database seem to ok. The right side of the calibre winwos with the columview is still working normaly.

I let calibre check the database and it was ok. Also my other libraries which were not in use show the same appearence.
Apart from that the calibre icon is not shown propperly in the windows taskbar, but replaced with general white icon.

Has anyone an idea how to reset calibre?

Click the dropdown under the bottom left where it says Sort by average rating and set it back to Sort by Name

I was not aware of this setting, but perhaps I changed it accidentally.
