I do not buy kindle because

I cannot use a VAN DALE or a good Dutch English dictionary, or other things,
I think like me there are a lot of Italian, Spanish, Dutch, German people just do not buy the kindle because lack of the good dictionaries the competitor has, it is a pity because I use a lot the kindle app on android

am I wrong or exist some dictionary? really i cannot understand their strategy

Can't say how good the dictionary is, but when you get the kindle it comes with the English dictionary but in the archive you can download dictionaries for various other languages.

The kindle 4 (non-touch) is bundled with full language support (interface and dictionary) for English (US and UK), German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese.

AFAIK, the Van Dale dictionaries are not officially available as mobi dictionaries. Where did you get yours from?

My Kindle keyboard (from amazon.at/.de) shipped with Duden (the standard German language dictionary) plus Oxford English /New Oxford American.

I very rarely have wished for a "cross-dictionary", Oxford usually does the trick. Looking up words frequently also takes the fun out of reading for me.

Im not sure if it's official or not. But i did get a packet of i believe 6 dictionaries.
But they work just fine (tested them with "de gelukkige huisvrouw")

Got them from a collegue, i'm pretty sure he made them all (as in adapted them from another file so the kindle recognises them as dictionaries), as i can't find them on amazon.

Just to be clear it's a dutch dictionary, not dutch->something. Just dutch.

Hi All,
I live in the Netherlands without Van Dale I do not buy the kindle,
just I want to state this,
if someone can give a tutorial it would be nice at least the Dutch monodic, but please Amazon consider that a pocket VAN DALE ENG- DUTCH is helpful, i have on my sony reader, on Android, on the Ipad2, why is not on the kindle?Also if I have to pay I would buy but at the moment I cannot buy,and a lot of friends of mine think as me

I have a Spanish dictionary on my Kindle and I didn't pay a cent. And please don't treat us like you're doing us a favor by buying yourself a Kindle u_u

Or the dictionaries publisher. It would be up to them to sell a Kindle version of their product, not Amazon.
