is it news or is it me? Pocketbook A7 in, 602 and 902 out

I got a whiff of it on the Russian/Ukranian forum as what looked like a slip from one Pocketbook employee, and then googled to find this, so maybe you laready knew about this, but it was news to me!

And keeping with the gossip, apparently 902 and 602 are already out of production (or so "Houskeeper" writes).

(see here for the "slip", and the top message here for the X02)

A7 now officially acknowledged. Wonder what will happen to the IQ?

Yes, sure, software 902 and 912 for the most part identical to each other ...

There is already a difference in what browser is used. If the emphasis in development moves towards Graphical User Interfaces for programs, then the non-touchscreen devices will probably not get those improvements. I also don't know if the same source code is used for programs available on both kinds of devices. If not, then this could be another source of stagnation for the 602/902/360+. Since we don't know; we worry.

Have you tried using browser on PB360+
It looks like somebody ported browser that was optimized for a unit with touch. I could not get to type URL - on PB360+ there is no way for tapping with stylus on URL bar as I would have done with a touch unit.

Off topic here. How do you feel about your new Sony device compared to the 902. Do you have a review anywhere? Thanks

I haven't reviewed the devices prior to this. The screen is definitely nicer on the T1 (better contrast). I've tried larger format PDF and EPUB files on the T1, but the larger screen size on the 902 trumps the better contrast of the T1 for those. So, I read novels on the T1 (and 505), and technical books and graphic novels/manga on the 902. It's good to have both.

Thank you, rkomar, for the information. I don't have a 10" device. I wish Sony still made 7" readers like the 950. The 602 fit most of my needs (I don't read graphic novels or technical books) except books that are printed from top to bottom instead left to right - I will have to scroll every single line if I zoom those texts larger than the screen size. Maybe the touch screen on the T1 will make scrolling easier but still not really practical.
