Question Attribute Error Viewing Epub`s
Hi.

I downloaded a few free epubs from the Baen website , but when i try to view them in calibre, i get an attribute error on 11 of the 26 books i downloaded.

I just downloaded the .epub version and got the same message. When I downloaded the .mobi version it seems to be OK. If you need to, I assume, calibre then can convert it to epub.

Yeah, but is the error in the epub file or is it a problem with calibre?

I downloaded Inherit the stars; and got the same error, did a epub to epub conversion no errors.

Just the first three errors that Flightcrew reports for that ePub from Baen:

My guess is that that something is malformed enough that it's tripping calibre up.

As gbm has said, converting the faulty epub to epub in calibre seems to fix the error.

Though flightcrew still gives a load of errors.

There was indeed a regression in the viewer that made it break on certain malformed files that it could handle before. Fixed in next release. In the meatime, as noted, do an epub-to-epub conversion.

All original files now open fine in the viewer in v0.8.36
