Cloud downloading?
So can you download from a dropbox cloud? Like with the First Gen Nook, I could create a catalog with Calibre2ODPS and use Trook to access it and download it.
Can I do something like that with the STR either rooted or Un-rooted? If not I may just go find an Original Nook, I'm just looking for an eInk device to supplement my Nook Color. |

A rooted nook touch is an android eink tablet so yes you can use it. Although I personally don't use it myself. Do you want me to check a specific app and website to see if it works or not?

yeah, I was wondering if you could download an ePub from a website (I'd be using my dropbox cloud), and place that in a folder so that it shows up with the cover and everything in the library.

So do I have the ability to move the files into the correct directory then as well? Looks promising!

Out of curiosity, for a non-rooted nook, could you do something similar? I know that the browser doesn't work well, and now on 1.1 it is 10 steps to actually pull it up, but if you did, could you pull down an ePub from a website?
My biggest wish list for an eBook reader is integrated Calibre support so that it will access my Calibre server natively (or at least through a web interface) to pull down books over wifi. I am sure that'll never happen (though a nook CAN use its web browser to pull down books from the Calibre server, but it isn't native integration), but I can dream. |
