Lamentations for the Kindle: Amazon, please innovate!

I've written a pretty long blog post but the conclusion is this,

Quote:
I can only join Mobipocket’s former CEO, Martin Görner, who said in a recent blog comment, “There are indeed pieces of the Mobi format that I still miss on Kindle like Javascript support or more importantly indices and search functionalities.”
I am not bashing Kindle in general or Kindle Fire in particular (I love it) but nevertheless, new features should not squeeze out the current ones that are great and awesome. I would love to see Amazon develop the great intelligent features of Mobipocket further, not nix them. At least just leave them be in the new format.
