kepub - supplementary font turned on - annoying poup

Uploading an epub as kepub to my Kobo Libra 2 creates an annoying popup in the text on each page:

'Georgia has been turned on as a supplementary font for this book.'

Quite annoying. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?
Deleteing the book and uploading it as epub seems to be ok.

What am I doing wrong?
Whats the difference betweeb kepub and epub?

I'm curious: If you add a new book and then immediately reboot before opening it, does the pop up appear then?

Hee, thanks.

The first test after a reboot shows no annoying popup anymore.
Any idea why?

Probably something related to this:

Curious again: Do you have a duplicate version of Georgia and/or Avenir Next in your sideloaded fonts folder?

I do have the following in my \fonts directory:

georgia.ttf
georgiab.ttf
georgiaai.ttf
georgiaz.ttf

Are these sideloaded? Do I have two versions of them? Where are the normal ones installed?

Is that the fonts directory you see when you plug it into your computer? If so, is there a particular reason why you have a copy of Georgia there? Because I think if you remove those files, the pop ups will stop because you probably have the same problem I had.

And yes, there are two versions where Kobo looks for fonts, one of which is normally hidden.

Yes, it is that subdirectory.
I have no idea why I added these fonts. I forgot.
After deleting them, the problems went away.
I also looked at you link and there is a youtube video describing replacing the stock fonts with a new version in the update rar file.

And for the record, using the Kobo supplied version of Georgia as a supplemental font would be pretty pointless. If anything, it is the reason for Kobo to implement the supplemental fonts as it is relatively small and does not have a lot of glyphs.

Yeah, if for any reason you need to replace the system UI or default fonts, that video is probably the better way now.

Although I'm honestly surprised that you haven't noticed or made note of the UI font change when disconnecting your device from the computer while you had that extra version of Georgia sideloaded.
