BBC Daily Radio Schedules - Anyone got a solution?

Hi,

And Happy New Year.

Thanks for all the hard work - Calibre and its feeds make my Kindle really useful and the daily newspapers (and comics) are really apprecaited.

But, I'd really like to have access to UK DAB Radio schedules ideally BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 4 Extra and BBC World Service (and even better if I could get that days set of available Listen Again feeds) on a daily basis - for use in the car and so I can pick and chose what to listen to...

Trouble is I can't find RSS feeds, the BBC sites don't translate easily (for me) and its all 'difficult' for a programming numpty - who might try to learn Python this year.

An example BBC Radio schedule is here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/programmes/schedules/fm

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4extra/programmes/schedules

http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/schedules

And a Days Listen Again schedule is here:

http://www.iplayerconverter.co.uk/r/4/aod/default.aspx

Thanks in advance ....

Tried Feed43, any other suggestions?

OK, Radio schedules may not be everyone's 'cup of tea' but I have tried using the inbuilt RSS formatter and Feed43 with simple extracts from the BBC site to no avail, I get nothing through bar the titles!

So any hints appreciated, otherwise I'll put it on the 'back burner' till I can do a better job.

In the meantime, (very simple) RSS feeds for:

BBC Radio 4: http://feed43.com/6850170175677420.xml

BBC Radio 4 Extra: http://feed43.com/0368773044446056.xml

BBC World Sercice: http://feed43.com/7513358207062358.xml

hmmm. I'm no expert and i personally don't think it's too clear what you're trying to achieve - but as far as i can tell your feed43 links are wrong.

There's no actual weblinks produced.

Here's the radio 4 one I knocked up with the feed43 search pattern

<a class="url" href="{%}"{*}<{*}class="title">{%}</span>

This produced http://feed43.com/1538032268018155.xml

I put this into a recipe below (first 5 feeds only)
Spoiler:

Code:
class AdvancedUserRecipe1325525152(BasicNewsRecipe):
    title          = u'BBC Radio Schedule'
    oldest_article = 7
    max_articles_per_feed = 5
    auto_cleanup = True

    feeds          = [
	(u'BBC Radio 4',u'http://feed43.com/1538032268018155.xml'),
	]

and it produced the following (mobi - hence TOC at end)

Thanks

Scissors,

Thanks, I had obviously got the Feed43 format totally wrong (no suprise really on a first go).

What I am after is a daily Kindle based Radio Schedule for Radio 4, Radio 4 Extra and the World Service ... I can then look at this (if I want) spot if there is anything I want to listen to etc.

But, funny old thing its proving a tad more difficult than I thought! But any progress is better than none and your help is realy appreciated.

Now to have a bit more of a play tomorrow.

Thanks.

Thanks Sciccors ...

Scissors,

Thanks for the tips. I hav reworked the Feed43 recipes and got feeds which put the time and title in the 'header' for the link to the programme website based on your work.

This then means I get the schedule on the Kindle and I can pick the station I want to look at, and then look for times, and can link for mre detail as I need it (or want it).

The recipe (trivial as it is is here).

It'll do for me - tho I am sure it could be neater etc.

class AdvancedUserRecipe1325869903(BasicNewsRecipe):
title = u'BBC Radio'
oldest_article = 7
max_articles_per_feed = 100
auto_cleanup = True

feeds = [
(u'BBC Radio 4', u'http://feed43.com/7818176822386171.xml'),
(u'BBC Radio 4 Extra', u'http://feed43.com/8551475446203213.xml'),
(u'BBC World Service', u'http://feed43.com/0342272754282581.xml')]
