Question Book Count
I used to see how many books in my Calibre and now it seems to have disappeared. Does anyone know how to see how many books are in Calibre?

If you hover your mouse over the Calibre library icon (row of books) you should see the number of books.

Hmm! I have the Icons OFF (only show the labels), hover only says:"Show books in Calibre Library"
Next to filter says (all books) with no filter active (yellow count with filters)
NOTE does not show when a device is connected

The Spock way (Crude, but effective ): Right click in the side scroll bar area and select Bottom.

Mine shows how many books under the library icon. What version of Calibre are you running. I'm on 8.32.

If you just show icons and no text the book number under the library icon disappears. If you connect your device the number under the library icon disappears. I added Choose Library to the menu bar so I always have the count visible regardless of what device I'm using to view the library (see attached image circled in red.) You'll also notice that since I start up my library with a restriction that the number of books shown in that view are highlighted in yellow.

Thanks to all that answered this question. I got back what I was missing and now it shows all the time. I keep Calibre updated so use the most recent one. I was messing in the preferences and took away the part I needed. Anyway, thanks to all who took their time to answer. It is and was very much appreciated.
