Yup got one -- this site came up on google for something I was looking for on the fire, don't recall the exact google. But after browsing for a few minutes seems like a very useful site.

Same here BUT it was a present I opened a few weeks early!

Glad I did cause folks here helped me with some things that have transpired since then with the KF so now I don't have to play catch up.

I got a Kindle but I don't know if it is a Kindle Fire. The box just says Kindle and has the Amazon logo.

If it has an LCD screen it is a Fire.

I've been around for a while too. My son gave me the Sony 505 for Christmas 2008 and then this Christmas gave me the Kindle Fire.

Now, I have to spend some time playing with it to figure it out.

I bought myself one as my early Xmas present too.

It's been great fun, but I've found myself reading less and doing other things more. It's funny I never really understood the complaints people had about the Kindle 3 having a browser, apps, and games. Now I kind of do. I'll pick my Fire up intending to read and an hour later I've watched YouTube videos, surfed the web, and played a couple games, but not read what I sat down to read.

Yes the Fire can be addicting and mainly used to do all sorts of cool things OTHER than read. There is life outside a book. Its just nice you can read AND do everything else with it as well. Welcome to all the new Fire owners. Hope you find a lot of answers here from all the experts and friendly Fire owners who love to help out, especially Blossom.

Have been lurking here for a while, jealously (now when I could use the spell help it does not appear, until the y) hoping for a ereader. Thanks to the info here went with the fire.

I got one for Christmas - but I'm not new to MobileRead! I found the site back in '07 or '08, shortly after I got my Sony 505.
