Question New to Kindle and have two.

Hi, I'm new here, and possibly posting my question in the wrong place.

I'm new to Kindle e-readers. I am the happy owner of a Kindle Fire and a Kindle Touch.

So for my question . . . if I have the same book on both readers and reading the Kindle Fire indoors, then decide to sit on the patio where it's very bright and use the Kindle Touch, is there a way to keep both readers on the same page?

I've tried to find the answer other places, but so far haven't had any luck.

Books brought from Amazon on the same account should synch between Kindles, the same as the Kindle phone app synchs with the Kindle.

I've heard of problems with this with the Fire. Some people report having to sync, close the Fire, open it up again, and sync again to get things working.

Make sure your WiFi is on, both devices. Then Synch to Last Page Read.

I have seen problems with the Fire not updating the LPR setting to Amazon, but they seem to have cleared up since the 6.2.1 update.

Also, you do not have to buy your books from Amazon to have LPR work across devices. As long as you use Calibre to properly set the metadata and do the side loading for each device, it should work. (I've got my Fire and my KK 3g sync'ing my library books that started life as Adobe DRM'd ePubs.)

I'm so glad that Calibre does this. It's sometimes annoying to have to go back and forth between a couple readers and have to go on a wild goose chase to get back to where you were.
