What is the XEC DLS Control?

Can someone tell us what the XEC DLS Control panel under Display Settings does? I have not been able to find any info on it anywhere.

I asked one of the developers about this. Apparently, it has to do with auto dimming under certain light conditions, and can also be used (when the appropriate libraries are included) to optimize video playback battery consumption by tweaking backlight settings during playback.

There you have it.

On the same topic of strange System settings options, why there is the "Add administrator" option, when it doesn't do anything?

So since that is as clear as mud, can you ask if we should be using it? And how do we use it: - Disabled? Enabled with log on screen? or Enabled without log on screen? Does this draw more power?

It is amazing they never thought to mention this control in the used guide!

Google turned up a white paper which explains what XEC-DLS is, and how it works.

I'm not sure what the "log on screen" setting means!

My guess is that this is a somewhat experimental feature that the Vox developers didn't have a chance to thoroughly test yet.
