Help, my new Vox out of the box does not power on seem to charge

Hi folks,

I just bought a Kobo Vox. But it does not turn on and does not seem to be charging even though I have connected it to the power outlet with the charger provided...

Can anyone help me, please?

Press the on/off button for at least 10 seconds then release it to turn on. I would leave it plugged in for a few hours before doing that however...

Had the Vox on charger for about 4 or 5 hours. It has a flashing green light, but still does not turn on, no matter how long I hold the power button in for.

I foresee a trip back to the store in your future. Sucks but you may have gotten one of the units that went out in the 1st batch back in Oct. If you don't mind saying, where did you get it, so others can avoid old stocked units.

You could try opening the back and re-seating the battery to ensure it's plugged in. Sometimes during shipping the vibrations cause the battery to come unplugged.

Is there a way to tell if it is indeed one of the ones which were put out in oct? I'm experiencing the same issue, purchased it from Best Buy! Never worked from day 1 it was a Xmas gift for my daughter, I spent 2 days trying to contact someone but being during the boxing day madness was unsuccessful so I decided to call the 1800 # being that I live 4 hrs from the store, again no answer so I emailed! Got a response only to tell me that the return policy is 14 days from date of purchase no matter if it was a Xmas gift!
I would love to know if this is faulty!

did you read the posts that I provided the link for? There are other things to try like holding the off button + volume up for 20 seconds, etc.

Yeah, I did go back into the store this morning and exchanged the Vox. I asked them whether they had the first batch that came out in October. They said that yes, it was.

I hope I will have better luck with the Vox I got this morning.

I live in Canberra, Australia, and have bought the Vox JB HiFi in Woden. It looks like JB HiFi is the only chain store that is offering Vox for sale. I have not seen Borders Australia advertise it on their website.
