My father wants a Kindle over the Sony Reader for Christmas!

I ordered the Sony Reader 500 the day it came out and just replaced it with a 505 due to breaking the screen on my 500 last month. I have been working on my father to buy a Sony Reader as well and looked forward to sharing books with him. I finally convince him that he wants an e-reader for Christmas and now that the Kindle is out he wants it over the Sony Reader.

His reasoning is that it will be easier for him to buy books over the air (he is not the best with a computer), he will have a bigger book selection, and he beleives it will be more popular (so more supported) than the Sony. Unfortunatley, I can't argue with him other than to say I think it is funny looking. I see that the Kindle lets you browse the web using an experimental web browser and now I think I want it too! I wonder what I could get for a one month old Sony Reader 505 on eBay... I think the divorce would be more expensive so I guess I'll have to wait until the Kindle II comes out.

Hmm... I found a PRS-505 on ebay for $277 buy-it now.

I would expect you could get at least $200 for it.

I got $200 for my used 500. So no reason you could not get $200 for a slightly used 505.

I did take a look and I think $200 would be easy to get based on the auctions I saw (I even had a pm when I logged on today offereing me $200 for it). I think I'll play with my dad's and if I like it then I'll pursue selling the old one. So many toys, so little time...
