New fire owner needs help with book placement
I just received my kindle fire this week and it was pre registered so all the books from my K3 keyboard were there in the carousel. I downloaded the 10 books that I had on my k3 that I had not read yet and left the rest on the cloud. My question is after I read each book I would like to remove it from the device to eliminate clutter but I am not sure of the correct way. If I press the book cover it gives me the option of removing from device or add to favorites. If I remove it from device will it remain in the carousel like the archived books? I imagine I will still be able to re-download in the future if I choose. I miss adding read books to a collection folder. Actually I miss all my collection folders. They were so handy for sorting my books, hope they add this in the future

Thank you Betty. My fire just arrived fri. afternoon and this was the first book that I have finished. I was long pressing from the book shelf and not the carousel and thats why I only had 2 options. After your post I tried it from the carousel and I did get the 3 options that you mentioned. With my K3 once I finished a book it was put in a "Read" collection among others as I often have 10 books or so waiting to read most of the time. To avoid confusion in the future as to which books have been read should I remove from device then remove from carousel also. That way only unread books will be on my device and previously purchased books will be under the cloud heading to be downloaded again if I so choose. Am I correct in this logic or are there better ways when you get a large collection of books.

I personally take everything out of the carousel except what I'm actually reading. It took a few minutes to do it initially, but I like keeping the carousel streamlined. I can always see all of my books under the Books tab.
