Adding Photos to Gallery
Hello All,
I have searched this site as well as google, and I cannot figure out how to add photos to the gallery app. I loaded them on my vox in a folder I created called /Pictures/Europe Pics. When I open the gallery app, it says I have no items in my collection, and there is no way to add collections. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance, Rowan |

The built-in gallery app is pretty basic and only looks at images placed in certain folders (like the /sdcard/media folder or the /sdcard/pictures folder, I believe).
There are almost certainly other, better [free] image viewer apps that are out there but I've never really looked. |

If you have Astro or another file manager on your Vox, you can store your photos folders on your micro sd card and then open them via the folder which will automatically bring up Gallery. That's what I do...

I just copied a picture to a microSD card and tried viewing it. I have both Astro and ES File Explorer installed, just to compare the two. They're practically identical, but I'm finding the latter easier to navigate and find stuff. I found the picture on the external card with both and could display it using Astro Image Viewer, ES Image Browser or Gallery. Gallery took the longest to load.
When you put your picture(s) on the microSD card, was it a fresh card, or the one you keep in the Vox? I unmounted my existing external microSD card and had the image on another card I inserted. It worked for me, but if you have other apps on your external card that you maybe removed, that might be a problem. I see that I have a bunch of stuff on my microSD card that's normally in the Vox that I didn't ask to be put on there. Last edited by oldyellr; 12-23-2011 at 02:05 PM. Reason: additional info |

Its the built in sdcard. All I did was plug the vox into my mac, created a folder called pictures in the media folder, and copied my pictures. There is a bunch of things on that card by default from kobo.
I cannot find another picture viewer in the app store. |

Update:
I installed Photo Days, and it also did not detect any pictures. So I am guessing there is some issue with how pictures are named, or what folder they are in, or how folders are named. I do not understand why there is so little documentation about this on the internet about this, even among Android devices in general. |

The Vox recognizes the following picture formats. Are yours different?

Try QuickPic. It has setup to include specific folders.

Thanks for the tip, but that app is not in the getjar store. How did you install it?
