Jailbroken kindle, hide goodreads and cloud buttons?
Let me begin by sincerely apologizing if this belongs in the dev corner.
So, I have a jailbroken Kindle PW2 running 5.4.2. I would've gone with the Aura HD, but I like collections (can't wait for ix's 5.4 collections manager). I transfer my content from my Calibre library to my kindle when I want to read it or want to have it on my Kindle. I don't buy and transfer directly from the kindle store because they're usually inconsistently tagged and labelled, and I want to use Calibre to make them consistent. So I don't use the Cloud feature on my Kindle. Is there a way to hide the cloud button, as well as the goodreads button? I never use either, and although I know I can disable them, having the buttons there bothers me. |

yeah this should go in the dev part
![]() it's possible to do it, probably not that hard, but, i imagine it is only going to happen unless someone who has the ability wants to remove it to ![]() i would take a look, but i only have a pw1. i saw people have modified buttons on the top row (where the clock is), removed them, added functionality etc, i'm not sure if the buttons you are talking about are there, but, sure it's possible ![]() Last edited by zxczxc; 01-16-2014 at 08:19 AM. |

The goodreads button is there, so that one should be possible. The "cloud" button I reference appears in the top left of the library, next to the "on device" button.

Just an FYI--I have the original version of the firmware--5.4.0 still, and I see the choice between Cloud / On Device on my screen as well. So that isn't new with the new firmware--choosing "Cloud" shows a list of the all the books purchased from Amazon with a check mark by them if they've been downloaded to my Kindle.
