Some Questions about the Kindle

Hi everyone,
I am new to these forums but wanted to ask a couple questions. I have my mind set on a Kindle(just because of Amazon Help and that I get gift cards for Amazon all the time) but I am not sure which Kindle I should get. I am not worried about the 3G at all as I have internet at the house and am not worried about getting it anywhere. But not sure if I want the regular or the touch. Any suggestions or thoughts? I am interested in hearing your thoughts about,

1.Collections. How easy is it to organize books on the shelf? There are certain books I wouldn't want the kids seeing. I am not going to be letting them just play with it anyways but is there a way of putting certain books where they can't see them?

2.Do any of them take an SD card?
I have heard about the Amazon Cloud but not sure exactly what it is. Is there a way to put books on an SD Card? I know the Nook has that option but not interested in going with the Nook right now.

3.What Types of Files Can I Download?
I know I can download off Amazon but are there other places I can shop? What files do they need to be?

I think those are all my questions right now. Might have more later Thanks in advance for your help!

1. You can use a Pass word Collections are easy to set up. But not sure you can block the kids from certain books.

1. Collections are easy to set up. Just make sure you register your device before trying to set them up as it won't let you if your Kindle is not registered. No way to hide books that I know of. But I am new to the Kindle myself.

2. None take any sort of card expansions. There is no way to expand memory. What you buy is what you get. So if you want more memory, go for the Touch, if you'd be ok with a bit less maybe look at the new Kindle without a keyboard.

3. Your Kindle will need mobi files, at least currently. There is a new file system coming out, or maybe already has, but for now you need to buy books in mobi format. Or if you buy in epub just use Calibre to convert the books to mobi. If you buy books with DRM though you will have to install the plug in to Calibre to strip the DRM off the epub.

As to whether to get touch or not, have a look at each model if you can in a store and decide. If you can't, then look at the specs online and choose whichever suits your needs best

The Kindle 4 has 2GB of storage space, vs 4GB on the touch. Since Kindles use some space to pre~index for search, 2GB is enough for perhaps 1,500 ebooks.

The touch is running newer software, and this miight matter in the long run. If you expect to buy ebooks on the device, then the touch's on screen keyboard will be easier to use.
