Touch shelves count books twice?

I created three shelves on my Nook STR yesterday. I noticed that my number of items increased by the same number of books I shelved. Does it count it twice? Does this affect the memory at all?

I don't know about the counts, but I doubt very much that it affects the memory. I have to assume that the shelf entries are like PC shortcuts - just pointers to the actual book, not a duplicate file. However, I could be wrong. If you are right about the count going up for each shelf item, it does make one wonder if they might actually be creating duplicate files, which would be a very odd way to do things.

I'm inferring that you mean the total numbers of items in your overall library, as listed on the main library page view "All," increases when you add an item to a shelf. Not that the number of the items on the shelf increases 2x for every one item added.

I was unable to duplicate this error on my Nook. Are you on the latest firmware version? Maybe try restarting the device? Other than that, I'm not sure.

I just bought the Nook STR on Black Fridya so I am not sure if I need to update it or not. I will try restarting it this afternoon when I get home. Thanks!
