Folders and DRM

I have a few books which I got originally in a DRMed form, like .AZW and then I have removed the DRM, e.g., to .MOBI and then converted to .EPUB to share with my wife. Since this is three different extensions, I would prefer that these show up in Calibre as one book with three extensions, but right now they are in two directories, one AZW and one MOBI and EPUB. I tried just moving things around, but Calibre doesn't recognize the move and will recreate the extra directory if one tries to access that book. Any way to get these combined?

Highlight the book entries in Calibre (selecting the entry you want with the best metadata first as the one you want to keep) and then select merge from the right-click menu (or press m) to merge them into a single entry. You will then have all formats under a single record.

You can also add new formats to an existing record via the formats section of the Edit metadata dialog.

A bit obscure, but it does just what I wanted!
