How has your reading in 2011 compared to 2010?

carld made a comment in another thread (I can't figure out how to transport the quote to this new thread) that his reading is way down this year. Mine is too. Partly because of circumstances, and partly because I've been magazine reading rather than book reading.

Has your reading this past year differed from last year?

Way more than 2010! All because I entered the eReader world in the fall/winter of 2010 and reading became so much easier.
I don't think I'll read quite as much in 2012 though. I guess only time will tell!

I think it is about the same. I've always been a big reader but now that I have an e-reader I'm not paying as much as I did before the reader (got my first one July 2010).

A good bit less. 52 I think last year and will end up around 27 or 28 this year. But I was burnt out and had other stuff going on so I didn't pick up a book until May, I think.

Having picked up a Kindle this year, I've found myself reading SO much more than last year. The Nook Color had a short-lived "lots of reading!" effect when I got it, but I wanted to use it as a tablet more than a reader. The Kindle, though? Jeez, I've plowed through more books in the last 6 months or so than I did all of the last year and a half or so.

Way more this year. Last year I think I read maybe a dozen books. I got my Kindle almost exactly a year ago, and I'm currently on my 83rd book of the year.

A couple of more.

I read 121 books in 2010

I just finished up my 121st book of 2011 a couple of nights ago. I'll probably read 2 or 3 more this year but I'm pretty busy right now so I'm not sure.

Way down, but mainly because I had my own novel coming out, which unfortunately cut my reading time substantially. The only time I've had a chance to read has been right before bed. That can last anywhere from one minute, to fifteen

Same for me; I read about 70 books last year and am on pace to finish fewer than 50 this year, but the last novel in the trilogy I was writing turned out to be about 50% longer than expected and it ate up a lot of time that I otherwise would have spent reading.

I've read slightly fewer books this year than last. Last year I read 238 books, and so far this year I've read 163. Got distracted by TV and the internet and stuff, haha!

A little more than I read in 2010, which wasn't that much at all. I've been able to read a lot of classics and I am continuing that. Since these tend to be longer books, the number of books that I have read is low, but I know the page count is high. Next year will be even more. I've noticed that since I bought the Sony T1, my reading has picked up quite a bit.

My guestimate is that in 2010 I've read 70-80 books. So far this year I've finished 117 books. However, looking back I've avoided a lot of the longer books on my tbr list which I might have read if I wasn't counting books.

During the last three weeks or so I've been reading a lot less, which is partly due to being a bit burned out and having reached my goal of 100 books and partly because it's the busy time of the year and I've been working more.

I read zero books in 2010 and Ninety-five so far in 2011, but in 2010 I read online newspapers and blogs etc in 2011 I haven't as much. Maybe I am reading more, maybe I am reading the same amount just different material who knows....

A bit more. I've gone from around 30 books in 2010 to ~40 this year.

But I'd love being able to read 100+ (or 200+!) books in a year, that way I'd have some hope of catching up with my ever-increasing backlog.
