Micro or mini SD Memory

Santa is arriving with a Kobo touch ....woot
Althou all seems fine technical detailed info is hard to find regarding the expansion slot specifications. The user guide says micro
I've searched specifics trying to decide which size wether mini or micro sd memory and what size the max is for the KT,doesn't seem to be written or have seen conflicting opinions.
I've heard it said a micro and max only to 4Gig althou on another page up to 32 Gig.

My question: is it micro or mini and how to tell the difference in the store
What is the max i can insert,
What brand works.

Thanks in advance

Micro SD Card is used by Kobo Touch.
Package will say Micro SD.
Micro SD is printed on front of all Micro SD cards.
It is not legal to print Micro SD on cards that are not Micro SD.
Google each type card to see how they look. Go ahead you can do it and see difference shape of each.

Definitely micro SD. (I didn't even know they made a mini SD card. I guess there is such but I've never noticed one for sale in a retail outlet or website.) I'm 99% sure I've put in a 16 gb micro SD card and it worked.

thanks for the advertisement..what's a millimetre
and all replies
Found this searching in the mean time

Physical size
Size comparison of families: SD, miniSD, microSDThe SD card specification defines three physical sizes. The SD and SDHC families are available in all three sizes, but the SDXC family is not available in the mini size, and the SDIO family is not available in the micro size.

Standard size
SD, SDHC, SDXC, SDIO
32 mm × 24 mm × 2.1 mm
32 mm × 24 mm × 1.4 mm (as thin as MMC) for Thin SD (rare)

Mini size
miniSD, miniSDHC, miniSDIO
21.5 mm × 20 mm × 1.4 mm

Micro size
microSD, microSDHC, microSDXC
15 mm × 11 mm × 1.0 mm

Glad that's solved in great detail guys
Guess I'll go with a micro

Wow I didn't even know that Mini SD cards existed.

I use a Sandisk Micro-SDHC 8GB memory card with no problems, some people have had problems with certain Cards. Also I don't think that SDXC works (XC= Xtra Capacity).

Here's the link to Amazon it doesn't come with an adapter that one though.

Many, MANY small devices do not have replaceable batteries. I think one issue is that it normally implies a totally different type of packaging for the device (removable portion of the case for instance) which adds a lot of complexity to the design.

Remember that also, many devices like this are being priced so that it is not to large a stretch for the consumer to replace the entire device since by that time, technology will have advanced well beyond the capabilities of the older device.

Yes but for the majority of people it won't be easy to replace.
