How do I add a single book but from multiple directories?

I want to add a book problem is that its JPEG images in multiple directories how do add it as 1 book and not more than 1?

As long as you have a single html file which correctly references all the images in the various local directories Calibre should bring everything together correctly if you just drag the html file into the Calibre library window. All the necessary html, css and images will automatically be compressed into a single zip file within Calibre.

well im lost do i just type this info in notepad or word or something? and they arent html so not sure how to make them that way

Not HTML is your first problem.
Until that is corrected, the Combining HTML feature won't work (AFAIK that is the only format Calibre can combine).

You should either use an authoring program made for the format
or
convert (and debug-edit) each single document to HTML, then make your index.html in Notepad (or any text editor)
(note the Index must be able to access all the files from where it resides when you add it to Calibre.

If you have a "book" that's just a collection of JPEG images, add them all to a ZIP file, then add the ZIP file to Calibre.

far too many images to edit each one and there is like a hundred different folders plus have no idea how to make them html

no it does not work it doesnt recognize it as a book with multiple folders in 1 zip

A lot of images sounds more like a comic to me. you could try the comic input. http://manual.calibre-ebook.com/conv...ok-collections
turn every folder in a .cbz (which is just a zip) and then add all those zips to a .cbc (yet another zip)
I know, a lot of work, but just a random collection of images is not what's usually considered a book.

You could also build one big html showing all images but i have no idea how that will look and it will probably be a lot of work:

I would try html or the .cbc the problem with that manual it isnt a step by step guide nor does it say how you go about creating these exstentions it mentions just what it contains and t make it even more confusing it says the document has to be a specific kind within it so to me this manual is completely useless

Because it's usually a given that you already know how to change the extension from ZIP to CBZ or RAR to CBR. In fairness, if Windows didn't bother hiding file extensions by default, most people would probably have no trouble figuring out how to rename files from ZIP/RAR to CBZ/CBR.

1.8 I can't see my file extensions in Windows. Help!

Newer versions of Microsoft Windows do not display file extensions unless you change your preference settings. That means (by default) you see:

Sushi Monster Mania #004 (2005)(Ebi-san-ZCultFM-DCP)

...but not:

Sushi Monster Mania #004 (2005)(Ebi-san-ZCultFM-DCP).cbr (and you want to see the file extension like this!)

To change the settings to see file extensions within Windows:

1.) Open Windows Explorer (from "Start", then "Programs", then "Accessories")
2.) Within the top menu bar of Windows Explorer, go to Tools
3.) Then click Folder Options
4.) Then click the tab marked View
5.) Within the Advanced Settings box, scroll down to "Hide file extensions for known file types" and uncheck the box. (Again: Click the box to remove the check mark. The box should not be checked.)
6.) Before clicking "OK" you will want to click the button marked "Reset All Folders." (If you want to restore the original setting, then repeat steps 1-5, except click on the box to check it.)
7.) Click "OK"

That's it!

Just a comment, while I love calibre for my normal ebooks and fanfiction collection, I don't find calibre's library organization to be ideally suited for multi-volume works such as manga, particularly when you've got manga that are 50 or more volumes long. Sure, you can treat them as series and make use of the tag viewer but I would prefer something that offers a hierarchical view. There should be several comic organization software available for organizing your comic collection. Alas, I'm not familiar with those types of software since Windows Explorer works good enough for me and the devices I use for reading manga (Nook Color + Perfect Viewer, iPad 2 + ComicGlass) can read CBR/RAR and CBZ/ZIP natively.

thanks for the info and yeah this is why the manual isnt helpful you cant just assume everyone knows all this info its actually quite a lot seems like this is alot of work no matter what way i turn
