Kindle books on Sony

Sorry if this has been covered before, but couldn't find the info.
I live in Canada is it possible to register / buy kindle books from amazon.com
(US) to purchase for my sony 650 using calibre to convert them? sorry for the convoluted question but recently i've noticed more free books for the kindle not offered for free else where thought I would give it a try if possible.

You can use K4PC to download them, but you need to remove the DRM before you can convert them in calibre...
