PRS350 Error notice - downloading to device

Hello - would anyone be able to give me some hints as to what I should/could do, having recieved this Error Message upon attempting to transfer books from the Calibre library to the device, a PRS350? Any help gratefully received. Also, Calibre sometimes doesn't recognize the device, other times it does. I am doing something wrong? Anyway, this is the feedback:

calibre, version 0.8.23
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

[Error 1392] The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable: 'G:\\database\\media\\books'

Traceback (most recent call last):

File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 405, in _upload_books
File "site-packages\calibre\devices\usbms\driver.py", line 260, in upload_books

Thank you. Highfield

Seems to be a clear message (red) to me.

Open that path (green) in Windows Explorer. Can you access and navigate around various folders as a test.

If the test fails (expected ), use the Windows disk repair utility to 'Fix file system errors' on the drive (was G:, but may change depending on what devices are currently attached. )

I think the error is from the books.db file. Follow theducks advice, but if it is the books.db file they get corrupted now and then. Simply delete it and your reader will rebuild it upon ejection from the computer or upon restarting, can't remember which.

Thank you, theducks, and thank you, dwanthny, for your advice and suggestions. I have attempted to follow the Windows Explorer route, though I'm not at all sure that what I did was the thing I was supposed to have done - I did a search for the path and no results were offered. So, the first question I have is, was this what you meant, theducks, when you suggested opening the (green) path? You couldn't have known, when you read my post, just how computer-inexperienced a person would be trying to digest your helpful advice. I don't, for instance, understand exactly what 'opening a path' is, or 'navigating around folders', or again, what it means to ' ''Fix file system errors' on the drive'. And if it should come to deleting the books.db file, I wouldn't have a clue about how to go about doing that either. Could you break it down a little for me, please? You'll understand, I am grateful for your assistance. Many thanks. Highfield

All of those are standard Windows functions.
Path is the full branch(es) to a folder. Each time you see a slash, the next is another folder to open

I suggest you run the Windows Tutorial (sorry, I can't give you an exact name. I deleted it a decade ago) to learn how to use some of the power at your fingertips.
