Happiness is 2 good books

Happiness is being in the middle of two good books at the same time. One, an audio book for the car, and the other for reading.

I'm just finishing up Outlander on audio (28 cd's) and 1634 - The Bavarian Chrisis via ebook.

Yeah....I wouldn't think MY two current pleasures would be someone else's. Still, it's just HARD to find books AT ALL that are satisfying (IMHO, and one of the reasons I like series). I've felt it difficult to get into a good book the last few months.

And now I'm in TWO at the same time. Which is nice

I concur! But this might be because I've been focused on writing?? I am also in the middle of two series. Almost at the end of series A that I'm reading and three away from the end of series B that I'm listening to in audio format. It is quite an exciting feeling to get to choose... "Hmmmm which world would I like to immerse myself in today?"

And I'm already on my way to finding a replacement read for when I've finished reading the final book in series A... I'm a sucker for romance & drama series - any suggestions?

For me one fat juicy book at a time, preferably 500 pages. And no audiobooks, I tried twice, it doesn't do it for me.

Samantha, maybe you will like "The Seamstress" by Maria Duenas. But it is a stand alone book. Some 500 pages and I couldn't put it down.

Sorry, all my series' fall under Thrillers, Sci-Fi, Military Sci-Fi, Historical Sci-Fi, and a couple fantasy (Harry Potter, LOTR).

Thrillers: Grisham's legal series, Patterson's Alex Cross, Lee Child's Jack Reacher
Sci-fi: Dune, Ender's Game, Foundation
Military Sci-Fi: Honor Harrington, Prince Rogers, Safehold
Historical Sci-Fi: 1632

I can only listen to audio books while I am driving. If I am listening otherwise I fall asleep and miss big chunks.

According to Linus, happiness is a warm blanket.

Happiness is reading something enjoyable. Plain and simple.

Yeah! when i'm reading a book i feel like i'm meeting a new friend and it's kind of fascinating because i can actually feel that i'm in someone else's world.. a good book is a great escape from reality

I too listen to audiobooks mostly while driving...or when I'm out for a walk. Otherwise, I too fall asleep while listening.

That's why it's nice for me to be in TWO good books....one for driving, and one for when I can actually read.

I'll definitely have to check it out! Even if it isn't a series, I can always use that as an in-between read! Thanks for the suggestion

When I read two books at once, one is a fiction book and one is non-fiction.

I get mixed up if I read two fiction, or two non-fiction at the same time. And invariably one, or both, go unfinished.
