Nook Classic stuck in start up cycle

Help, someone how do I get it runnung again?

Initially I notices two choices showing grayed out simultaneously (Looking for new (B&N) content and the choice directly above for more detail on item chosen). Please excuse the inaccurate description here, I'm working from memory can't pull it up right now.

I have repeatedly shut it down completely and restarted the nook. It starts to load and even pulls up the bn library and then goes to a blank screen and starts again. This process continues until the battery needs recharging.

I hook it up on the computer and everything is there.

Does anyone have any ideas? Please help.

I have no clue at all, but what I would do is turn it off and take the battery out for a minute or so, put it back in and try again.
To get the battery out, just take off the back cover and loosen the scre(s) that hold the battery (don't remember exactly how it looks right now, but it's pretty obvious once you have the back off.

Maybe an update went wrong. If I were you, I would try to reinstall the latest update manually (put the file in the root of the device and let it update itself).

My Classic Nook did the same thing. I did all of these things to no avail:

Removed the battery and tried a different one (at the B&N store where I went for help).
Deregistered and reregistered several times.
Reverted via the factory fallback to the previous software version.
Called B&N tech support (from the store).

The store couldn't help me, and tech support couldn't suggest anything that I hadn't already done, so I filed a claim with SquareTrade, where I had my warranty, and got a reimbursement check for the cost of a new Nook.

Good luck with yours. I would like to have been able to keep mine going.

This happened to mine as well. I removed the battery, left it out for a minute, and then tried to boot with no luck. I then took the battery out, left it out for ten minutes, then rebooted and everything was fine and has been ever since. YMMV.

I did call support and they did walk me through an update, which appeared to go well. However, now I can't get it to upload via my Mi-fi. The nook sees it but will not connect. Instead it persists in trying to reload via 3g which it can't do considering the sizeof my library.
