Thought I'd post about it here since it does relate to writing in particular. The paper book is some 528 pages and the Kindle is 1061 KB so not a book with just a little bit of info.

Idk, they were free for everyone yesterday, now today they're only free for people with Prime membership. Just let me say, I took a look through most of them and they were all right, not that good. I wouldn't spend that much money on them. You're better off picking up Coker's free Smashwords Style Guide and taking a trip to the library.

I think "Write Good or Die" is usually free. If memory serves it is also available (or was) through Smashwords as well.

It was a brief promo Writer's Digest did for Nanowrimo this year. It wasn't supposed to last for very long, but it looks like they let it go longer than they said!

It was supposed to end on November 12.

I looked at a couple of these titles and they were "free" for Amazon Prime members. Of course, you have to spend about $80 to become an Amazon prime member, but considering the other stuff that comes with it, free books could be a deal maker for me.

At the time I originally posted about it the book was free for everyone, not just prime members. And if you look at what's in the ( )'s it says "read for free" which seems to mean you can 'borrow' the book, not buy a copy for free. The thing is though even though you don't have a due date for the book (if a Prime Member) that means Amazon can remove the book if they wish and then your copy would be gone I would think.
