PRS 650 forever syncing???

Hello,

I hadn't used my Sony for several months and recently decided to update it by loading my recent purchases from Kobo. First I got the books onto the Reader Library software. I couldn't remember how to get the books to the reader, that's how long it's been, and I eventually found the Sync button. And it took HOURS. It never did stop, I went into explorer on my computer and looked at the Sony's drive. It looks like the epubs are there. Today I am just trying to add one book, and it is syncing, syncing, syncing. The little status wheel is spinning and the reader says not to disconnect. It's been about 15 minutes.

I'm not sure what to do with this thing at this point. I'm playing around with ADE on the laptop right now...also haven't used ADE for years. It's not behaving, probably very outdated, especially with Windows 10.
