Visio Tablet on Woot today

There is a Vizio VTAB on Woot today that has an IR Blaster built in, and a remote control app. I understand it doesn't learn, or do macros, but if the hardware is there, I think hacks may follow.

It's $159 + $5 shipping, refurbed. I'm in for one, just for the remote capability. I can leave it on my end table and use for my main system, maybe do remote to my media computer and drive all my components (hopefully).

It also has access to Market! So I can get apps on it, back up and install on my PE!!!

I'm still actively using my Pocket eDGe, with it's protected screens, and watching the market for real innovations.

That's a nice price. However, I have to restrain for the moment. You are right, it does make a nice remote and I do have a Vizio TV ...

I really understand restraint, but I figure even if the existing remote app blows, somebody has to write one for the only tablet with an IR blaster BUILT IN, and this unit with 8" screen and multi-touch has to be a good kiosk unit for my media table. Plus at 1024 x 768 res. it should remote my media computer well, leaving my PE free for the rugged portable work.
