PRS-T1 Changing button defaults

Is there anyway, other than rooting the T1, to change the default of the screen buttons, such as "Public Library" or "Google Books"?

Right now that both go to the Sony Store, which I will not use. I would prefer to have them go to the URL that the button states, i.e., Google Books, or my local Overdrive library.

I just went to the buttons to veryify it, and when I got to the Reader Store it gave me 3 options: log in, create an account or browse. I chose browse and it took me to a screen to force me to create an account. Jeez

And NOW my screen is froze for the 1st time ever. That was my first time to the Reader store, and the first time my screen has frozen.

The buttons go to the Sony store because it is telling you that you need to register your ereader. Once you are registered, then the buttons will work properly. When you register for the Sony store, it is also authorizing your ereader for use with Adobe DRM'ed books. If your ereader were not registered, then you would not be able to use the Public Library button anyway to download books because it wouldn't be able to read the DRM. For example, the first time you use the Public Library button it searches for your local Overdrive library and then sets it as a default.
