What could my son be doing to his 350?

So recently, I got another 350 and passed my 350 down to my son (he had already scratched the screen drawing with the stylus, so he got the old one). He carries it around in his backpack and reads it at school.

I originally gave it to him while we were traveling and it worked totally fine during the week-long trip.

Since we've been home, whenever he takes to school, the reader loses its charge *extremely* quickly. You all know, these things will hold a charge for weeks. His is running down in a matter of 1-2 days. If he leaves it home, it works fine and holds a charge. He takes it to school, it loses its charge in a day. What could possibly be happening at school? He keeps it in his desk. As far as I know, there are no magnets or anything weird in his desk. He claims to not use it any differently at school (just reading for 30 mins or so).

Any theories?

Playing with it during class. Flipping through pages very quickly. Goofing off.

It's a conundrum. I'm curious as to how you know the battery is dropping so quickly. Is he giving it to you to charge?

What on earth did he do to scratch the screen with the stylus? Sounds like he's a bit rough on things.

Well, if I'd had a 350 way back when I was in school, I'd have had it sitting on top of my textbook during classes reading away. I did that with paperback books, but it was a bit more noticeable, so sometimes I got caught. But mostly, I got a heck of a lot of fiction reading done, especially while in geometry class, LOL!

Or maybe he is showing it off to friends a lot.

I know that periodically, my 650 will lose power quickly, and have to do a reset to get it to hold the full charge again.

Since I don't have a 350, I never bothered to find out if that was an issue with the 350, though.

Maybe he just needs to do a reset and recharge, and see if that makes a difference?

My theory is he's not being entirely honest with you.

Most likely he reads a lot in class, and/or shows it off to friends. If he wanted an eReader and uses it, then he probably loves to read, and us book lovers will read anywhere and everywhere we can. Particularly on a device that's easy to hide behind a really boring and dull text book. After all, why waste time on social studies when I can read something a lot more interesting?

Comics, IMO. Comics require a lot more page turns than regular text, draining the battery quicker.

Does he leave it in "sleep" or power off - that'll eat up the battery if done a lot regularly.
Also, does he keep running the battery down ? That'll do things big time ...... charge at 1-2 bars is best practice, and overnight/lots of hours, from the wall ideally.
If he does it overnight on PC , which then goes into shut-down, it'll drain the battery. Not a Good Thing.
