How to Prepare for the Dreaded FACTORY RESET...???
So...as I install more and more apps on my Vox, I am starting to feel nervous. Nervous because I had to do a factory reset on my Kobo WiFi a few times to solve buggy firmware updates from Kobo.
I am preparing myself for this to happen with the Vox (although, I am optimistic that it won't!). I am just wondering if maybe I should put together a list of things to do after a factory re-set. Jefftheworld put together a good apps list, but I've simply wrote down a list of what I've downloaded, but I can't remember where I found them, and what versions I downloaded. And then there's configuration stuff like email and WiFi that I haven't been thinking about, and that has me a little concerned. Has anyone put together their own 'list' yet, just in case? |

well. one thing to note is that once you've done a factory reset, all the apps you've downloaded are still wherever you've downloaded them to, unless of course you've manually deleted them
![]() One thing you can do, to save space, is move those applications you like off to an SD card for safekeeping, and delete the rest of the apk files in the download folder. Once you need them again, bring'm back over to the VOX. |

I have them all in a folder on dropbox. Even when dropbox is is gone from my Vox, the files will still be on DB. It will be the first app I install. Installing from dropbox, rather than a file manager works quite well, but the option to install the file manager from dropbox and go from there works, too.

Just use titanium backup. It will back up apps and app data.

No, it only requires root for a true "full backup". It can do regular backups without root but there is certain data it can't access (built-in app data, android settings, etc).
There is no software that'll let you do a full backup without root. The same way a guest user on a computer can only backup his own personal files and not the whole hard-drive. |
