Angry ...frustrated newbie....
So, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks while trying to decide which e-reader to buy. I received my SONY today and I'm totally bummed because the pdfs were even harder to read on there than I thought they would be, I failed miserably at my first attempt at downloading a book I bought online, and I'm not finding this as intuitive as I thought it would be. It's probably obvious by now that this is my first e-reader and today seemed like a good day to register.

PDF's have never been a good format for reading on ereaders, with the exception of those books that were specifically formatted to be read on a small screen ereader (it is possible, I have some Alice in Wonderland books that look great in PDF).

You'll have a little learning curve getting used to buying/downloading/installing ebooks, but its not that difficult. Remember that different websites will handle things differently. Oh, and Calibre can be your best friend in utilities if you have to purchase a book in one format and convert to epub for your Sony.

Thanks, everyone Well, I'm pleased to report that I've now cracked the code for downloading books (at least via the computer - when it failed yesterday I was trying to download directly to the device from kobobooks.com). When I downloaded via their reader software, it worked fine (although the software keeps freeezing on me, and so does the Sony... :/ ).
