Trade-up to PRS-T1
My apologies if these questions have been answered already.
Given the price of the the RS-T1 I am seriously thinking of trading up my PRS-300. Can anything I have - lighted cover, AC Adapter - be reused with the newer model? Can't decide to keep the PRS-300 for my kids or trade it in. On a related note, why does the Nook Color keep attracting my attention? I can see no logical reason to like it since all I do is read on my ereader. Yet somehow I want one. Maybe Santa will surprise me. My kids would probably steal it (like they do my iPod Touch) if I did get one. |

For the T1, you won't be able to use the cover as it's too small. You won't be able to use the AC adapter because it uses a completely different connector. The T1 uses a microUSB connector for charging.
When I traded in an old PRS-500, I kept the cover and the AC adapter. Sony did not ask for them and I did not have them with me. I might sell the cover since it is a real leather cover it good condition. If you think one of your kids would actually use the 300 and read a lot, then give it as a gift. Otherwise, trade it in. As for the nook Color, get Santa to get you a nook Tablet. You'll like it better. Last edited by JSWolf; 12-16-2011 at 05:48 PM. |

Last Saturday, I traded in my 600 for a T1. at the $99.00 price, $50.00 credit which paid for the lighted cover, and the charger I bought all for 134.85.
It was well worth it even if I have a case & charger that I might never use again. I got my moneys worth out of them for the almost 2 years that I used them. Trade that 300 in & get everything you need in the process. |

Even though you can't use any of the 300's accessories, the trade-in is still a steal.
