Hello,

I found this forum when I was looking for information about whether or not other people were having problems purchasing the Kobo Vox from the Kobo site.

So I'm dealing with what has turned out to be a rather bizarre and negative incident, but thanks to another thread on this forum, I was able to find someone to help out, and I expect the problem to be solved.

Anyway, I'm glad to have found this forum, regardless of how and why. I've had my Sony PRS 650 for almost a year now and I really like it, but I saw the Vox and I've been waiting for a color reader to be available in Canada, so that will be this year's birthday present. From what I've read about the Vox, it looks like there will be more of a learning curve to it than there has been with my Sony, so I'm sure I will appreciate the wisdom and experience of the folks in the Vox forum who know all about it.

P.S. What's the 'karma' thing all about?

Yes, I see.

My Sony PRS 650 was really easy to get onto, but it looks like the Vox is going to take some getting used to. But then the Vox does more, too. I see it as a reader with other benefits. I can see, though, that this forum will be most helpful in learning how to get the most out of this device. I'm really glad I found my way here.

The Sony area had a thread about battery issues with the 650, and I have found that my battery life on my reader is not what I would have expected. It's livable. I mean, I can go for two or three days before I drop by one bar, depending on how much I'm using the reader, but I had expected better battery life than that. Still, it's not suddenly draining, so it's tolerable. We have a lot of power outages where I live, so I tend to keep everything fully charged up just in case.
