Your Kindle Needs Repair (Kindle Touch)
Hello all, I read many of the posts before updating to 5.1.0. I removed the screen rotation and the launcher, but kept the jailbreak. And updated to 5.1.0 with no problems.
And I tried to re-install KTRotate_0.2 again after successfully installing 5.1.0. Now I am stuck on the screen regardless of a hard/soft reboot or with/without the USB: "Your Kindle Needs Repair. Please contact Kindle Customer Service at http://www.kindle.com/support" I can't even get the KT with the USB to my PC to pop up the filesystem for the KT. Has anyone come across this or have a suggestion on how to recover from this? Thanks. |

There are posts from a lot of people with this problem. The new 5.1.0 has limited screen rotation support built in, and apparently the screen rotation hacks damage this code, bricking the kindle.
There are debricking instructions in the kindle developer's corner forum (simple debricking, and select boot threads). |
