Lost my books !

Hi ! After a bad manipulation, I lost almost all the ebooks in my Calibre library !

...BUT... hopefully I have them on my laptop !

So the question is: How do I do to transfer the ebook from my laptop Calibre library in my desktop's library, whthout "killing" the ebooks that are allready in this one ?

TIA for any help...

Before you go off and do something you will regret

Do a (whole computer) search for metadata.db (on the desktop computer ). NB: If you have set your Library folder as hidden (to keep from doing damage), be sure to enable the Advanced search "...in Hidden" option.

The results are possible locations of a Calibre Library.
Right-click on each in turn: Select "open containing folder" and see if there are (the expected) Author folders in the same location.

That may be where your Active Library was. Use the arrow on the Library Icon in Calibre to 'Create/Switch Library' to that folder.

Thanks, but I allready DID something I regret !

I checked my desktop and effectively there are 2 "database.db" ! one in C:\\Users\Windows 7 and another one -with a different mod date !- in an othe HD, both named Calibre Library ! ...but both only contain about 15 books, whereas I had about 900 books yesterday !

Fortunately I eventually thought that I STILL HAVE all these damn books in my Sony PRS-650 ! So, at the moment, I'm "trying" to transfer them from the reader to my desktop !

Knowing myself, I just HOPE I wont f...-it-up !?!

Cheers,
J-P.
