Exclamation TOC in PDF, but not in PB360

Hi there,

I use PDFEdit995 to convert MS Word docs with TOC into PDFs. In the created PDF the TOC works on PC, but PB360 tells me there is no TOC. Any idea why?

There seems to be only one extremely expensive software (print2PDF) that correctly converts Word TOCs into PDF TOCs...?

There are two kinds of TOCs. You can have a TOC displayed on the pages, with links to the internal pages (looks like a TOC in a paper book). You can also have the bookmarks that usually show up in a tab on the left in PDF display programs for PCs. It's the second kind that is used as the TOC on ereaders. Does your program produce the bookmark-based TOC?

Hey, thanks for responding.

Hm, does not seem so. I tried three PDF printers, Print2PDF (200 USD), PDF995Edit (19 USD) and PDFCreator (free). PDF995Edit can do TOCs of the frist kind, Print2PDF can do TOCs of the second kind, PDFCreator can not do anything. Print2PDF is way to expensive for just some PDF-printing... is there a less expensive solution?

Have you tried Calibre? I don't know if it understands Word documents, though. But it's free and easy to install, so it's worth a shot. You could also try OpenOffice or LibreOffice. I know they read Word documents and can export to PDF. I don't know if they create bookmarks, though.
