I suggest using the Connect to Folder feature to connect calibre to the folder you want the books to go to. It will treat the folder you connect to as a device and you will have virtually all of the benefits of any device plugin.
If you can't get the connect to folder feature working it is because your device is not being seen as a USB drive. Last edited by DoctorOhh; 10-18-2011 at 10:58 PM. |

I've got several Android phones and a tablet working. I can also use Connect to Folder for all. You say "Yes", indicating your OS can see it as a drive, but if that's the case, following the instructions Kovid posted shouldn't have given you the message that "the device isn't plugged in." Let me ask again, just to make sure. It looks like you are running Windows. What is the drive letter being assigned to the tablet? Make 100% certain you can copy files to and from that drive letter and that they appear on the tablet. If that works, calibre should work, at least with Connect to Folder. If it doesn't, you need to fix the connection to the tablet first. Note that some devices have a way to send files that does not result in a drive letter being assigned (Windows). That method won't work with calibre.
If you are seeing a drive letter and can send files with File Explorer, but Connect to Folder doesn't work, then it looks like a bug (at least to me.) |
