Getting rid of the slide lock

I saw an apk somewhere that did this but can't find it again. I woould think that there should be away of turning that off somewhere though. On a normal phone it make sense but on a tab let that folds closed it does not.

I tried "No Lock" and "No lock screen" apps. My problem with these is that they also disable turning off screen. I used to close and re-open PE when reading e-ink to quickly get read off back-light in the eyes. With "No lock" active this does not work any more. There are other applications out there that do turn off the screen, but they do it with locking the screen.

Does anyone know solution to quickly turn off backlight without locking screen?

I'm using No Lock 1.03, and both the Screen Lock app and the lock icon in the Power widget turn off my LCD just fine when I'm reading. And my e-ink controls still work just fine.

Me too. No lock seems to work just fine. The LCD still turns off but there is no lock
