Is it practical to "install" Calibre on a memory stick so that it can be used on a borrowed computer? I addressed this question originally to the Bebook website, not knowing that Calibre had this facility. I have been a grateful Calibre user for about 18 months; will introduce myself in more detail tomorrow.

Alternatively, can Calibre be saved on a memory stick and then installed onto a computer which is not connected to the internet?

There is a portable version of calibre; fully self contained. http://calibre-ebook.com/download_portable

Thanks - I have saved the link and will test it on my brother's [non-internet] computer. The more serious need is to be able to use it on borrowed computers during long holidays in Montenegro.

Just install the portable version along with your library to a USB thumb drive and you should be good to go.
