Can't import books?

I don't know what's going on, but Calibre's not letting me import books anymore. I try to add some (or even just one), and the Adding window pops up and sits at 0% and never changes, even when I leave it for hours. It isn't a huge book I'm trying to add, and even just one book versus several won't work. It looks like you guys get this question fairly often, for different reasons. Any idea how to fix it? I didn't try to install anything to Calibre aside from recent updates, and uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't fix it either. Help?

(And if I missed an obvious guide to fixing it, my bad! I looked around but didn't see anything.)

Do you have room on your hard drive?

Plenty; says I have 377GB free yet. Also forgot to add - Win7, if that helps, and the most recent version of Calibre.

Open the Task Manager and see what Calibre is using of CPU while the import is hanging there.
Did anything else jump up and stay while Calibre is stuck?

Try adding a small book from the MR Memorial Library just in case your book got glitched.

Lastly, temporarily disable your Anti-virus (standard use care warning here

)

It's may be a good idea to tell on what OS and what calibre version you are working.
