Cleaning your touchscreens
Can I ask what everyone uses to clean their touchscreens? Can I use the cleaning solution used for plasma/LCD/LED tvs? Will it damage the screen (if it is coated etc.)?
Thanks! |

I use an eyeglasses cloth after gently fogging the screen with my breath. Works well for most marks and smudges.

Thanks to the both of you!
![]() I wasn't sure about using my breath because when I was in the army, we were told not to use spit when 'spit polishing' our shoes because the acid in our saliva will destroy the leather (or something to that effect). So I just thought that our breath will be similar. But as you are both using it with no ill effects ... guess who will be 'spit polishing' (well, not with saliva, but breath anyway) their new ereader! :P |

Don't use a liquid cleaner. Microfibre cleaning cloths (the kind sold to clean glasses with) are the best way to clean the screen.

Micro fiber works great.
A bit of breath fogging (don't spit ![]() And for REALLY stubborn things, a very small amount of detergent in the water. A few drops of dishwashing liquid in a coffee cup of water is about right. |

Yup, any microfibre cloth will do it - and remember they are designed not to be used with cleansers.
I have to say I never got the dirty screen syndrome, I don't get smudges, or stuff on it, and I'm not a cleanliness obsessive - ask 'er indoors. But I 'specially don't use it with Indian takeaways if I can't find a tray............... ![]() |

Best to get a screen protector as I scratched my 350 with the stylus (had a bit of dirt on the end, I guess). I use microfibre cloth always and now also have the screen protector so I don't scratch it again.
